At Coundon Sixth Form we combine high aspirations with effective pastoral support to gain the very best results for our students. We are proud of the Sixth Form at Coundon Court School and the outstanding achievements of our students. We are an inclusive Sixth Form and offer a range of A-level courses as well as vocational options. Students will select three level 3 courses and will sit exams at the end of the second year.
Coundon sixth formers demonstrate a passion for not only doing well in their academic studies, but broadening their horizons in order to move onto exciting destinations with the right skill set. We combine academic studies alongside the development of key skills such as employability courses, PSHE, work experience and enrichment activities, such as the Duke of Edinburgh award and activities that promote the students in the school and local community.
We offer a high quality experience from teachers who are experts in their field, can offer friendly advice for career pathways, and will ensure high aspirations and standards are met. Learners have 5 hours of teacher contact time per week for each subject, divided between two sessions (one morning and one afternoon).
Students enjoy their time at Coundon Court; they form positive working relationships with their fellow students and staff. The majority of students go on to higher education whilst others are successful in securing apprenticeships and employment.
We are excited about the development of our new Sixth Form Centre, which is currently being refurbished and will give students an exclusive area to study, socialise and eat. This facility is part of major building work which will be ready for September 2021.
