Entry Requirements
Students must have achieved a minimum of Grade 6 at GCSE Music or equivalent. A minimum standard of Grade 4 on your chosen instrument is desired.
About the course
If you love music, this is the course for you. You can perform, compose and listen to a wide variety of music and can even tailor the course to suit your individual strengths as a musician! From rock and pop, through the classical symphony to musical theatre and jazz, the listening element of the course really does have something for everyone!

Optional units from a selection of Rock and Pop, Musical Theatre and Jazz Music
Exams
Component 1: Performing Music (25% or 35%) - A live performance of a selection of pieces on your chosen instrument(s) or voice to a visiting examiner.
Component 2: Composing Music (25% or 35%) - Two or three compositions produced which reflect different genres and periods of music.
Component 3: Appraising Music (40%) - A written examination on the musical styles and genres studied throughout the course.
